The Project
The Riverside County Watershed Protection program runs pollution-prevention school assemblies every year for elementary schools across the county. In 2017, our team redeveloped this assembly into an original series starring Sunny the Seagull and his local waterway adventures. Every year since then, our team created a new episode in the assembly series. In 2020, this assembly was adapted to a virtual assembly format for distance learning.
Strategy and Execution
- Manages production of presentation, including budget, timeline, and development of activities
- Writes new script and storyboard for each year’s assembly
- Provides art direction to graphic designers to create branded content
Results
- Developed recurring assembly series starring Sunny the Seagull character, who provides inland students with updates on local water quality
- Educated over 10,000 students annually on water pollution prevention actions
- Received over 90% average teacher recommendation rating every year of program
